Finally i can confirm 1 think about Alexa Rank, and i think many people miss this, however i still need confirmation from people so if you use Alexa widget, please leave a comment to confirm my conclusion (especially on tricks section underneath this post).
Ok, to make the story short, after a pause in my Alexa Rank movement, i found that actually Alexa Rank does ranking almost real time, however there is a drawback in this kind of a ranking system, Alexa need a huge resource to make realtime update of the rank possible, so while the rank calculation is realtime, the widget rank rendering take a 3 month average of a realtime rank.
However i notice that it is very likely that there is certain threshold (up and down) for Alexa Rank to be changed, if you still within those threshold Alexa’s server won’t bother rendering updates for your widget.
FYI, this is my rank now :

it is almost time for me to break the 1 mio milestone, i think i’ll do something special when my rank got under 1 mio milestone. Who knows? a contest maybe, still haven’t decided yet.
Okay, now about the highway, actually at first i want to make this highway tricks at separate post, but i think i will write in this post first, i need confirmation of my technique.
Now after knowing that your Alexa toolbar/widget showing 3 mo moving average, what can we do to employ this characteristics ? Right, moving average is the key, so you should:
- Focus on first 3 mo, use any black, white or green (what? green?) SEO technique to push visitor and content to your site during this period, therefore the rank average will start with a high rank number.
- Build a finish blog/site before you make them online/upload them to your server. It is not recommended to build a half finish blog, instead use a lokal WP (install them on XAMPP/WAMP/anything), after you sure with the quality, try to buy domain and hosting on the same day with your WP files upload day. In this way, people will perceive your site as a working site and pleased, maybe next time they need something on your niche they’ll comeback.
That’s all, again i still experimenting with this tricks, so send me some comment about it.

I am wondering that if it is real time is it possible for two sites then to get the same rank? It would be too much work to reorder each and every site every second of the day. In fact it would be impossible I think. You are right it has to be a moving average, But my feeling is that the updation would only take place once or twice a day?

Very informative post Nugroho. Actually that is what I am doing right now since I am expecting DollarMirror.com to debut at a considerable ranking in Alexa, well, at least relative to my what I have worked hard for after three months if not a six figure rank ‘coz that might be difficult to attain at once. Probably, a million too if chance is generous enough.

i think you’re doing great by attaching to entrecard, try to drop as many as you can, this will attract visitor then helping you a great alexa rank debut. #2 advice, focus with content also, surprise your audience. happy blogging and thx for the comment.
Thats exactly what I have been pondering cos I have got two blogs and they have exactly the same alexa ranking. This blog is very informative. Most people now endwell on google page rank because a search engine is the primary source of traffic to a site. An improved page rank should translate to a better alexa ranking all things being equal

google PR works fine since google is the most used search engine on the planet, but however if you seek a milestone of your hard blogging work, i think Alexa work better, since they update more often. thx for the comment.
I don’t concentrate that much on Alexa rank……And I heard somewhere that EC leads to high bounce rates…will that affect Alexa rank?

I’m still working to improve mine and just passed the 1M mark… be careful about using any blackhat Alexa tricks, though.. I’ve heard of people using Alexa surfs and redirects that gave them a huge one-time boost until Alexa caught on, and then they were de-listed from Alexa altogether!
Of all the fluff out there, I think these 2 sites have been the most help in getting my ranking down to just over 200,000…

congrats on passing 1M threshold, many people saying that this is a milestone that you could start selling your site. I agree on blackhats those kind of tricks simply a short term solution, plus the consequences somewhat bothersome also, stick to content building simply the best basic tips.
This is a great post, fortunately 70% of the time of website owner is consumed in experimenting towards increasing page rank and alexa rank. To start with increasing page rank one must start with downloading Alexa toolbar for IE or firefox on as many system possible. as a second step alexa widget on every page of your website, by this way every webpage opened is counted while calculating rank inspite is user does not have alexa toolbar installed knowtheworldaround.com
Thx for the insight.
