10 Tips on Improving Alexa Rank

Ok, i think the title already describe the text here. I simply summarizing tips and tricks on improving Alexa Rank i found on Google, most of them already tried by me. Remember that tips and tricks mentioned here are imperative and not officially supported by Alexa authorities, so try at your own risk.

The list are:

1. Content is king. To be exact, Good Traffic driving content is a king.
2. Still related to #1. Try to research hottest topic and write about them
3. Install Alexa Toolbar. This is to gain advantage on your visit to your own website, if not you who started, who else will ??
4. Install Alexa widget, Note that Alexa calculate rank using moving average so it is better to start ranked at higher level, if your site still young content and visitor wise, try to improve them first, after you have a better stat then use this tips, this is also applied to #3 tips.
5. No Follow No Problem. Do a Link Exchange with higher Alexa Rank Blogs, try to get best placement on their site. You can add a sweetener that your counterparty can add nofollow tags on the link but give you a better placement on sitewide pages, since Alexa only calculate traffic and reach not link popularity and relevance.
6. Entrecard help, but gave higher bounce rate. It’s a common sense. most EC user check their account once a while. And most of them give a counter visit/drop to a dropping site. If you stick with an EC list you’ll ended up having the same people visiting your site again and again with low onsite time, this will perceived ugly by Alexa. To overcome this, try to write something that EC users like so they will remain on your site longer. Other way to deal with this problem, simply try to drop EC on different site each day. My tips, gather sitelist from Campaign Menu on EC Dashboard, it’s practically every EC enabled site available rather than using a self list of EC user.
7. use PPC to attract visitor. Target the cheapest keyword [analyze using Adword Tools], try to top the highest payout site on that keyword, that will make your site available more often to be clicked with a small CPC.
8. Use a facebook/other social site. Facebook facilitate member to automatically make user blogpost into facebook note. Use this, my tips : try to talk about facebook, some game apps or other stuff related to that.
9. Follow discussion on webmaster/geek/SEO forum or mailing list, don’t forget to include your link on post signature. It is undeniable that most rank toolbar user are people aware of such thing and it is either a geek or a webmaster. so join forum/mailing list about that. Introduce yourself, participate, put your time on it, but don’t forget to include your link onsignature link.
10. Links into SE Asian social networking forum. Same as #9 since most SE Asian blogger also focus on Alexa Rank.
