One of the earning program i set on this blog was TLA, it was nice that TLA was the 1st program that pay me real money [paypal balance]. The setup was easy, it is simply cut-and-paste a few codes from their sites and it’s done. TLA does crawling your page periodically to check whether your page still showing their content or not, during the show time they simply will credit your paypal balance, as simple as that.

peringatan TLA2Few days ago i got email from TLA saying their spider cannot reach sold links on my site. It was plain wierd because at the same time i also open this blog and the link was still there. Logically if they cannot reach the links it is either the links wasn’t there or the road to the links is blocked [or on a traffic jam on my case]. After a few checking and brainstorming then i’ve come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with my hosting plan which hosted on Indonesian Server. Case solved by migrating the whole WP instalation to overseas server [Thanks for jagoanhosting crew for their great support]. After the worst is behind then i do some discussion with jagoanhosting crew for the source of the problem, then they tell me that few weeks ago Indosat [major telco in Indonesia] put an international bandwidth limit to their datacenter’s server the same server in where my blog reside. After taking breath from the stormy moment, then i just remember that my wife’s blog [under development] got the same issue [stories here].

Moral : In Indonesia, Check your hosting plan periodically, since sometime either they or their supplier change service terms. Most of the time the change was not in your favor. If possible it is better to find an overseas server, spider could reach you better, in my previous case it is likely that bandwidth limit caused a bottleneck on server’s international connection or in simple, the spider caught in a traffic jam.
