One of basic SEO is keyword targeting. However it is, as always, easier to be said than done, we should understand the very basic of keyword targeting first, that is, in certain given time, people will search on mostly same topics, that in the “real” world something is happening that make people moved to find certain information. for example, when Luna Maya (Indonesian Actress) is at center stage like this time, people try to search about Luna Maya, that’s because people curious, Who is Luna Maya? What is happening with her? etc.
It is often very difficult for us to both keeping on track with real life issue and virtual life issue, therefore Google come up with a great solution. Google Insight come to the rescue. Here the screenshot of Google insight.
Google Insight make it simple for us to track “trending topics” in certain region and in certain keywords. It is as simple as putting the keywords you want to track in what region and timeframe then Google Insight will generate the most trend topics related. Then it is a simple problem of elaborating our post to include those trending topics in our future post.
Notice that this post already use the trending keyword. At the time this post written, Indonesian Actress Luna Maya is having problem with media reporter, that one unlucky reporter accidentally hit Ariel (Luna Maya’s boyfriend)’s daughter, causing Luna Maya into massive rage, that she shout her anger in her twitter account saying media reporter lower than prostitute. Unluckily media suing Luna Maya back.

I agree that you can probably get a load of traffic by aalyzing keywords but if you want to grow a good audience I think you would be better off trying to write good content that build an audience. Keywords are only going to get you people in through search and chances are they won’t come back all that often as they’ll have the information and just leave.
thanks for the advice, i totally agree with you, targeting keyword bring short term traffic, however for a starter, in which your blog are not known to people already, this is a great way of introducing your blog to people in short time. But to retain the audience, yes, you need a well elaborated writing.
